This 5 bd, 4 ba 1,900+ sqft home in El Cerrito offered a large, imaginative remodeling opportunity for agent Martha Park of Better Homes And Gardens Reliance Partners and project director Lara Richmond. With existing modern touches like the open concept living room leading to the dining room and bright natural light coming from the multitude of windows, the team had the perfect starting point to bring every room up to speed to impress buyers and close the deal!

Under Lara’s management, the team got started by re-texturing and re-painting every room in the home to make them all look uniform and illuminated. Every door received a new casing, hinges and hardware, and each room was upgraded with a modern thermostat. Once these basics were checked off the list, the team moved on to the kitchen where they repaired and repainted the cabinets, as well as adding new pulls and hardware to each door. A new dishwasher, refrigerator, and stainless strip flashing below the oven hood were installed to give the kitchen a touch of the latest technology. Over in the bathrooms, the team got to work by installing new vanity cabinets, new cabinet hardware, and new vanity mirrors. They then added new countertops, sinks, and faucets to each vanity and installed new recessed lights in the ceiling. In the showers, the team replaced the old doors with new frameless shower doors, installed new shower heads, and added new tile detailing to the shower walls. Moving to the exterior of the home, Lara directed the team to install new house numbers and a modern mailbox. The porch tiling was removed and cement fixed, and new exterior lighting was added around the home.

Once this project wrapped up and the home was listed on the market, it sold for $1,100,000, providing the owners with a 175% return on their investment!
